It is with great pleasure that the Organization Committee welcomes you to attend the 23rd International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (ICCF-23). The ICCF-23 will be held as a virtual conference, during June 9th-11th, 2021. It will be hosted by the Innovation Laboratory for Sciences and Technologies of Energy Materials of Fujian Province (IKKEM), and the State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces. The ICCF-23 aims to build a platform for scientists in the field of Condensed Matter Nuclear Science to present and discuss the latest research results, to exchange ideas and to inspire new thoughts.
The Covid-19 pandemic which struck in 2020 has forced us to re-prioritize our lives and activities including conference activity. The International Advisory Committee (IAC) of the International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science has decided that the ICCF-23 could not be held entirely face-to-face. Considering recent conditions especially travel restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is decided that the conference will be held online. We therefore warmly invite you to join the ICCF-23 online conference. The success of the conference will depend on you sharing your great ideas, visions and research results with all the participants. Prospective authors are encouraged to contribute high-quality papers to this conference. We look forward to your strong support for the ICCF-23. Thank you in advance!

The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University was established in 1991, on the basis of the Department of Chemistry that was founded in the same year of 1921 as the University. Thanks to tremendous efforts from generations of prominent chemists, as represented by Professor Jiaxi Lu, the former President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (1981-1987), our College has been recognized as one of the leading chemistry institutions in China, frequently ranked within the top 5, nationally.
The College consists of three departments: the Department of Chemistry, the Department of Chemical Biology, and the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. The College has particularly strong research programs in physical chemistry, inorganic/organic synthetic chemistry, and materials chemistry. There are 172 faculty members in the College, among whom 96 are fulltime professors. Eight prominent faculty members are the prestigious Members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Nineteen members have been awarded the Distinguished Young Investigator Grant from the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Three faculty members have led the National Basic Research Program of China (973 Program), and two have led the National Key R&D Program of China.
The College has delivered outstanding research outputs that generate significant impact on scientific communities worldwide. Many research works have been published in top peer-reviewed journals, including Science, Nature, Nature Reviews Chemistry, Nature Reviews Materials, Nature Materials, Nature Chemistry, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Catalysis, Nature Communications, etc. The members have actively served research societies and some are well recognized as leaders in their fields. One faculty member is the Elected President of the International Electrochemistry Society, two faculty members are Fellows of the International Electrochemistry Society, and five faculty members are selected as Fellows of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
The College places particular emphasis on undergraduate teaching and graduate education. Two major national education centers, i.e. the National Demonstration Center of Education for Chemistry Practical and the National Training Base of Future Teachers for Fundamental Research in Science, have been established in the College, provide a wide range of high-class chemistry courses and demonstrations for students. In September 2019, more than 600 new students registered in the College to study chemistry in Bachelor, Master, and PhD programs.
The College hosts several national and provincial research platforms offering state-of-the-art research facilities to support cutting-edge research. In particular, the State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry for Solid Surfaces at the College is the flagship among all State Key Laboratories nationwide in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, ranked the highest level for five consecutive times (1994, 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014) by the Ministry of Science & Technology of China since it was founded about 30 years ago. Another major national research center established recently in 2012 is the Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemistry for Energy Materials (2011-iChEM) promoting joint research with sister institutes on energy research.
The College has strived to be one of the leading research centers in chemical science, and has made strategic plans to move to emerging interdisciplinary areas that cross boundaries with materials, biological, energy, and environmental sciences. The College has always promoted to strengthen the link between chemistry and chemical engineering, and encouraged to convert fundamental research outcomes into real world applications. Xiamen covers a total area of 1,516 square kilometers(≈585 square miles). As one of the five earliest special economic zones, with heavy investment from inland and abroad. Despite its fame as an industrial powerhouse, this port city has not lost much of its charm, and as a sightseeing haven has become one of the best areas to visit in Fujian and for good reason: With good food, some great architecture and a mild to hot climate.
Gulang Island is situated southwest off Xiamen Island, facing the city center across the 600-meter-wide Lujiang Channel.
Being a former international settlement, Gulang Island is unique in its well-preserved diverse architectures. The island is also nicknamed “the Piano Island” for the many celebrated pianists it has produced and for its rich musical heritage.
The Island Ring Boulevard starts at Baicheng Beach (Xiamen University) and passes Zengcuo'an, Huangcuo, Qianpu until it finally reaches Hecuo, stretching a distance of 12.76 kilometers.
