On September 20, the list of winners of Tencent's 2019 "scientific exploration Award" was officially announced. A total of 50 young scientific and technological workers won the first "scientific exploration Award", and Professor Zheng Nanfeng won the award. The winners will receive a prize of 3 million yuan from Tencent foundation in the next five years.
The "scientific exploration Award" focuses on basic science and cutting-edge technology, and directly subsidizes young scientific and technological workers in the "exploration period". The award was awarded by Ma Huateng, chairman and CEO of Tencent Corporation and founder of Tencent foundation in 2018, in collaboration with Beijing University, Rao Yi, Chen Ning Yang, Mao Shude, He Huawu, Wu Hequan, Li Peigen, Chen Shiyi, Chen Shiyi Tang, Shi Yi Gong, Qi, Qi, Cheng, Taining, Qi and 14 scientists jointly launched the basic science and frontier technology field, supporting the full-time work in Mainland China, as well as 45 year old and below young scientists and technicians of public welfare awards.
Zheng Nanfeng has been engaged in the research of surface and interface chemistry of functional materials for a long time. He is committed to understanding the nature of chemical property regulation of functional materials at the molecular level, to promote the application of related materials in catalysis, energy, environmental protection and other fields. To date he has published more than 150 papers in science, NAT. Nanotech. and NAT. Mate, and has been cited more than 11000 times. His achievements have been universally recognized by international peers. He has been invited to write reviews and expand articles in acc. chem. Res., J. am. Chem. SOC. Adv. mater. And has been invited to attend more than 60 conferences as well as present reports at international conferences. At the same time, he has undertaken a number of national key R & D projects, key projects and major projects of NSFC, as well as enterprise cooperative R & D projects, which has greatly promoted the development of basic and applied research on nano functional materials. His scientific research achievement "surface coordination chemistry of metal nanomaterials" won the second prize of the National Natural Science Award. His teaching achievement "the establishment and practice of collaborative innovation training mode for research talents of Energy Chemistry" won the second prize of national teaching achievement award.
According to reports, the first "scientific exploration Award" in 2019 received a total of 1335 valid application materials. After four rounds of review, including preliminary screening, preliminary examination, reexamination and final defense, 50 winners were finally selected.
